Thany( you didn't show your name!!) so I used part of your email address.
Your English is exceedingly good!!
I am sorry for your diagnosis & remember all too well how overwhelming the
news was!! My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago in Nov 2004. It has been a
very hard journey for
my hubby had a knee replaced right after Christmashe had to take
Coumadin for almost 2 months after the surgery to prevent blood clots
Really, the main concern was that his Red blood cell count dropped SO low
that his anemia became more pronounced. So, though he was going to physical
just wanted folks to know that Terry is doing great from the knee
replacement surgery
however, he is having blood in his stool & is feeling "poorly"..he is
taking Coumadin & the oncologist is hoping that maybe between the family doctor
& surgeon visits we are going to take Terry to tomo
Terry was still doing poorly from all over body pain after Thankgiving. He
has had xrays on his elbows & ankles and nothing significant. Xrays & MRI
on his knees did show that he had no cartiledge left & our family doc was
amazed that Terry was able to be upright especially considering h
Terry is on a medical study, and officially he is supposed to wear condoms
since they don't know what Sprycel "might" do to seminal fluid and how the
woman's body will react to the possible changes.
I wrote the other day how Terry has been doing VERY well as to side effects

my dh, Terry, has been on Dasatinib (he is on medical study) since basically
April 1st, and it is night & day difference for him compared to the
suffering he had taking Gleevec. The side effects from Gleevec were going to
kill
him long before the leukemia would have. That sounds harsh,
first, Terry has had various minor dental work done, fillings,
etcdidn't seem to concern our dentist at all that Terry has CML
Terry did smoke some as an older teenand a "bit" during his young
adulthood.when we were young married, he would smoke some at work...but
never, ever at
Katy,
my dh, Terry, was literally falling apart due to all the side effects from
Gleevec and the CML...they were killing him, long before the leukemia would have
gotten him. After another long hospital stay, Terry was taken off
Gleevec. The scary thing for us was that they didn't do anyt

you MUST talk to this group first to be "added" to the assistance program
before they will accept the application that Rob sent the PDF file for
earlier.
If you DO have insurancethis is how
Irene...
I had contacted Bristol Meyer Squibb back in April before Dasatinib was
approved by FDA to ask about patient assistance. The girl I talked
to was fairly sure it would be in their Patient Assistance program just like
Gleevec was available through Novartis. This means that you
well, I can only share Terry's experience. He was having heart
palpitations in mid February & was admitted to the hospital.
Luckily, his heart seems fine & they even did a vein scan on his legs,
etc. However, this was basically the last straw of side effects that
were basically going t
my hubby did extremely poorly on Gleevec, to the point of hospital stay
& the oncologist finally taking him off treatment. Dasatinib has
been the complete opposite for Terry.he even has worked a full 40 hours the
past week. wowis really as simple as we can say.
Terry has still

my dh, Terry, experiences great pain throughout his body. On Gleevec,
it was at times excrutiaing and required pain meds such as Vicodin.
Unfortunately, pain meds would interfere with his work, so most often,
he did without that comfort measure.
he experienced a "holiday" from pain when he
with Terry, he had severe bone/muscle pain...but instead of "hard"
muscles...his deterioratedhe has no "muscle" now...just all
"flab". That was one of the first tip-offs to me that there was
something wrong with him. I was rubbing his upper arm & was so
used to his "big, strong" arms
dh Terry had severe side effects with Gleevec during the 14 months that he
took itbut though he bruised easily, his skin never seemed
"thin". No one warned us about a potential problem, so Terry did
swim in chlorine pools quite a bit last summer. Never seemed to
have a problem or ras

Medicaid income limit is $350 for Terry to qualify...we make about $1600 to
$2200 (in Feb, we only earned $1000 due to Terry in the hospital).they do
cover our children, but that varies from month to month dependi
Howdy! I have been SO exhausted that I just haven't been on the
computer much to write & update folks on Terry's condition.
Terry did return to work last week, and with taking Synthroid, for his non
functioning thyroid and he seems to be much better ...more physically active
& social.
well, all I can say is that we have gone through severe ups &
downs.

surprising...basically, still Phila chromosomes to contend with...Terry then
