Hi Vivi,
I actually have kidney problems but not because of Gleevec, but rather from
all of the radiation and Chemo I had more then 22 years ago in preperation
for my bone marrow transplant. It is getting very bad and unfortunately
there is nothing that can be done about it. I will need dialysis,
Has anyone begun to have problems with reduced kidney function after
being on Gleevec for a while?
If so, please let us hear from you about how you discovered this, what
form the discovery took and what was done about it.
Thanks in advance to all our Gleevec warriors and
Chai-18 to us all.

I remember reading in some posts about bleeding on the brain. I'm not
saying that this is my problem put would like to hear how they found out that
this was happening. Their's a lot of pollen in the air right now that it's
spring here and I can tell because of the head aches and pressure
Thanks, I will.greenie

On Gleevec I had several eye bleeds and went to my eye doctor and he said that
nothing was wrong, and it did go away in a few days. I had one since I'm on
Tasigna, but it didn't last long. At first it worried me a lot, but then I
kind of got use to them. Hope that yours has improved, Greenie

I didn't save any email about them. My wife looked at me this morning and
I started Gleevec in the second study on Feb 5th 2000. I had I bleeds
before only when we had soft water and I would try to dry my eyes by wiping my
eye to hard with a towel. After moving to a home without soft water back
to hard water I didn't have a problem with eye bleeds. But today I
lowering my dosage. I say
this with great trepidation, as I don't want to be an alarmist, but it is worth

My creatinine level was 1.3 back in June of 1997. After I found that I
had CML in Dec. of 1998 my levels were still at 1.2 to 1.4. I started
Gleevec the first week of Feb. of 2000 and my levels are still at 1.3 to 1.4.
Nothing has changed but I can't say the same for anyone else.
