Hello fellow CML'ers:

I also have some water retention, but not too awfully bad as some.
My hands will swell sometimes and my feet just a little. At one
time, she (doc.) prescribed a low dosage of Lasix because I was
having trouble talking in the mornings. My voice would be so gravel
sounding and it was like that most every morning up until around
noon. Someone mentioned that it might be water retention around the
vocal cords causing it.......the Lasix didn't help much and since I'm
one who hates taking "one" more pill than I have too, I quit. The
thing with my voice quit over a time and doesn't bother me any longer
except ever so often. When I notice water retention now, I just take
Diurex as needed. That helps me more than the Lasix did.

Hope everyone is doing well......I've been feeling some better than
usual....having a bit more energy these days. Our house re-modeling
is about done and I've been helping the decorator with stuff as well
as trying to get all my everyday stuff put back. :) It's a lot of
work, but, I'm enjoying the newness of the house and having so much
more room and storage than before, I'm actually having fun. I do what
I can and then rest up a bit. The landscapers are about
finished.....got to put in the sod this week and I'm extremely happy
about that as I've looked at brown dirt for a little over a year now
and that turned to mud when it rained! I don't know how many times I
would have to wash the poor dog's feet when he came back in.

On another note.....since the beginning of the new year, I've lost
nearly 30 pounds and I feel that that has contributed to my feeling
better and having a bit more energy. My husband & I do the Atkin's
Low Carb (it's the only diet that has ever worked for him), but I
sort of modified mine by eating the most carbs in the mornings and
trying to eat more healthy throughout the day. Stopped the snacking
and over eating. I think that has helped me more than dieting. We
talked about going for 50 pounds loss each, but I think my last 20
pounds will be harder to lose, so I'm waiting for some better walking
shoes I've ordered (be here on Monday) & then I plan to get out and
add some walking and light exercise to my daily regimen and hoping
that will help me. I have a lot of trouble with my lower back and hip
joints, so will just do what I can. I told my mother some days I
feel like I'm 90 years old (because of all the muscle, joint, & bone
pain) instead of my 56 yrs. LOL!!! A doctor I had a few years back
told me not to give into the pain or I would be bedridden.....I don't
plan on letting that happen! So, everyone, hang in there and keep
fighting........some days, I feel so much better that I'm like my old
self again.

Keep Looking Up,
Suzieq
