Hi Patrick,
Thanks for posting this but it doesn't list one more thing that is a
really large benefit we have received from tax dollars. All the basic
research for CML was done with taxpayer dollars. The research that
led to Gleevec started around 1960. The drug companies only got in at
A friend of mine sent me this. I've got to admit even I never thought
of it. I always appreciate a little humor with my logic.
Hope it's taken in that spirit.

It's Greenie again. I might and that my AST was low, the norm is 15-37
at this lab and mine was 13. My ALT was 24 and the norm is 30-65. They

Hi Suzieq and the group.
Well I went to the Internist Dr. Ashwani Kumar this morning and the blood
work showed to major problems. Just the norm on my counts. He told me to
check with Dr. Tallman and Northwestern. I gave them a call and was told
he was booked up until the first of Sept.
Hi Suzieq,
Yes, I am worried about what is going to happen with this new plan, but
since there are really no particulars then we will just have to wait and see
what happens.
Obama is fully covered by his insurance so why can't we... I personally
think that he is making a very big mistake. Time wi
Hi Suzieq,
The last few days I'm starting to feel a little better, eating some and
felling stronger. I think going to take a week or two get all of the med's
out of my system. Then I'll start taking my Gleevec again. If I start
having problems then I know it's the Gleevec. I'm hoping no

Hi Carol,
Well there's not really enough information in your post to answer your

The VA does not have restrictions on Gleevec. I have received mine
through them since 2003. I also received my procrit through them.
There has never been a problem. I use a non government ONC and they
had to assign me one with the VA in order to have the meds
prescribed. They do a very good jo

Medicare. I'm not sure who notifies him of this. Does anyone have info
on this question? Al

Personally, I think that we better get used to the idea of buying our
own Gleevec. If it is similar to the VA restrictions, they don't pay
for anything that is not generic. Also, probably letting us elders
die is cheaper than keeping us alive. Such is the "Change." Just a

The blue dog democrats aren't liking Obama-care much. There won't be a vote until September after their summer break. Plus Obama's poll numbers are declining. And there is an election coming up. He did a poor job selling this humongous program on national teevee the other night, too. A
It's not looking good for us. I suggest that you write your senators

know what else we can do, but everyone better wake us fast.
