Hi Daniel,
I switched from Gleevec to Tasigna and now have no fatigue and very few
other side effects. My fatigue on Gleevec was fairly bad in the beginning and
improved over the course of the first two years. Exercise helps. My doctor was
very supportive of switching to Tasigna. He said
many thanks to everyone who responded to my post. i really appreciate
you all taking the time to share your thoughts. it's a big help to
know there are others out there dealing with similar issues. thanks
for the support.

I know how hard it is with the fatigueI had it really bad my
first year with Gleevec, too. I started taking it about the 1st week
of Feb. '04. I have progressed very well on Gleeveccurrently at a
3 log reductionI go a little up and then back down, but it
doesn't worry
Hi Daniel.
It looks like you are doing great cytogenetically.
I was so tired when I first started on Gleevec, and had lots of side effects.
I had boils, lost some of my hair and my counts went up and down for a while.
I believe if you stick to it, eat a good diet, and try to walk some each
Daniel,
I think that you should stay on gleevec. But you should try a good diet. My
son has had fatigue too and he is doing better since he started to take
garlic capsules and green tea. You should read the book anti-cancer ( David
Servan).
keep going,
Ricardo.

You might want to ask your Onc if you could split your dosage, and
take 200mg morning and evening. That has helped minimize my side
effects, and I have been PCRU on this regimen for over 2 years. The
400mg pills break in half easily, but I ask for the 100mg pills so I
can take 2 at a time.
