Hi JudyI never had the itching on Gleevec that I'm having on Tasigna. I
don't have a rash either, but itch on my headback, arms, all of the time.
It isn't any funbut could be a lot worse. On Gleevec I had itching of my
legs and feet. Isn't it funny how these drugs affect us? I f
This sounds silly, but I have a rash you can't see. It's mainly on my upper
arms but lately I am itchy on my back as well. My onc says it's from Gleevec
(after all these years (7)). I am taking Ranitidine (Zantac) and drinking
Mangosteen Juice as well. The combination of the two seems to help
Hi and thanks,
No, I've been on Gleevec for 4 1/2 years with no rash, but my dosage was
increase about 4 months ago.
I had a first time eye bleed and now the rash.
It could be due to the increase of the Gleevec. I take 6 100 mgs a day.

Hi Greenie,
Mine is on my upper thigh;
I'll see if I can take a picture of it.
I have been eating yogurt and also putting the yogurt on the rash.
It is cool and feels good.
Thanks again,

Hi Greenie and thanks,
Mine is getting better already.
It hasn't itched much, but is uncomfortable.
I had just gotten back from a vacation to Ft. Myers, FL to see Edison's
estate, and I wondered if I came in contact with a plant or something. He had
plants from all over the world on his estate
Jeanie I should add that the rash was on my arms, legs, etc. but after
about 3 to 4 weeks it went away. Lucky it's never come back.

Hi all and thanks for all the advice.
I am going to the dr next week, so will see what he has to say.
I have been on Gleevec for 4 1/2 years now and never a rash.
It doesn't seem to be spreading, so will keep an eye on it.
Thanks again and blessings,

I'm the queen of the rash. But I'm not on Gleevec. I did have the
Gleevec rash from head to toe for 7 1/2 months and tried everything.
Finally, I got the pound jar of triamcinolone acetonide cream usp,0.1%
from MDAnderson takes the itch out but I didn't get rid of it
completely until I took Methyl
I would think so. Contact your Dr. as soon as possible. Go to the ER
immediately if you have any worsening of symptoms.
In the first aid dept. How about a simple ice pack to reduce inflammation? Also
Benadryl or even better Benadryl Lotion/gel.
