I believe the lady actually had CLL, rather than CML.  She probably got the
terms confused.  In CLL, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, people often are not
treated for several years, as it appears to be a slow proceeding type of
leukemia.  Unfortunately, my experience has been that once it becomes
necessary to treat it, it can become very serious and can become fatal.
