I, too, was originially put on Interferon and among all the extremely nasty
side-effects, one is peripheral myopathy, which means that the nerves and blood
vessels in the bottom of the feet are affected and the bottom of the feet may
become numb. This is not completely reversible but since I was also having
extremely painful cramps and spasms in my lower legs, I was put on
Pletal/generic: Cilostazol. I am told that it does not work for everyone but
it certainly did help me, reducing the cramps and spasms in my legs and feet
and restoring a certain amount of feeling in the soles of my feet. If anyone
on interferon or on Gleevec has these side-effects they should be addressed in
a serious manner. I know some people have been taking or drinking quinine for
the leg cramps. Quinine should not be used if one has tinnitus since quinine
exacerbates the tinnitus.
