We went to see Dr. Druker in OR to ask his opinion on starting a family. He felt my numbers looked good, and that physically having a child was an option for me. My local oncologist in Seattle is more conservative and would rather we just go through the adoption process. We've looked into adoption and gone through some of the required classes for adopting through foster care. I'm not opposed to adoption. However, the further down the adoption road we're getting the more it's bothering me that I haven't fully examined physically having a child. I'd like to find a local oncologist that's more supportive in Seattle, because if we did go the pregnancy route, driving to Portland regularly would get to be a lot. So I guess I have two questions. 1) For those of you who have gone off their medication to have a child, how did it go short term and long term? 2) Does anyone have a Seattle oncologist recommendation who might support this decision?
