I think so too. I think the jam is in the pedestal... There was no dropping
into the lockers in the kind of sea we were having on Saturday.

Maybe do the PSA Queenstown Race and then on up to Corsica for the evening?
There is a non-CBYRA sanctioned cruising class start, too.

I think the suggested time after reading all the posts is 250 hours.
Because I won't do 250 hours in 5 years, I I am going to change it every 2
years. It is like your car, just because you don't put many miles on it
doesn't mean you shouldn't change it every couple of years at least. Oil
breaks
If you have the proper replacement oil shouldn't do any harm to
change.sometimes it is a pain to get at the drain cock and collect the used
oil without making a mess, I use a old fry pan under the unit, and
sometimes it is not the easy to replenish because other stuff is in the way
and available
Just need to get back on Sunday to get to the Ravens-Patriots game in time to
tailgate!!!

I had similar sound when I began to overheat at high RPMs. Turned out to be my
heat exchanger clogged with scale.
I am now cruising at 2800 RPM/7.5 kts after cleaning the tubes.

I found that PB Blaster and one of those tools you hit with a hammer and it
turns a screwdriver to be the ticket. Took a small sledge and a number of bumps
with it to dislodge the screws, along with the heat from a wood stripping gun.
All three nothing else worked.

Agreed, for frozen screws these work well.

Wild guess: water leaking out of the back seal of the water pump? It
would be a mist and near the mount.

Possibly there's more vibration when the boat's in gear?
That is, when you're at the dock at modest rpm, there's not enough
shaking going on to spring a leak. Then when you've got it in gear at
2800 or so, you might just crack a seal or a bolt that's backed itself
off a turn or two.
Just an
How about the stuffing box? When I bought my current boat, it dripped a
little more than normal in neutral, but really opened up when the diesel was
in gear. It sprayed the entire engine compartment.
