My boat also came with Velcro on the overhead which became unsightly.  Took it off and removed the glue.  Replaced the original with fabric screen from the hardware store and cut it so it lapped over the outside edge of hatch combing.  Put a hem by folding over and using double sided fabric

They screens fit fairly snugly inside the hatch openings. 2 small aluminum retainers either side forward fastened to the cabin liner and 1 nice little button latch center on aft side keep them from falling out. The screen frames lay flush with the cabin liner. The screens need to be removed to
