I got 4 internal halyards and all the usual (masthead light, windex light, radar, bow and foredeck lights, anemometer) covered wire cables inside Alianna’s mast. I do not have anything inside a conduit. I have spent lots of windy stormy nights on the hook and i have stayed onboard at the mooring du

The sound in my mast is not on windy night, but on very calm, quiet nights, when the slightest movement of the boat will cause the wires to slowly rock back and forth. Just rolling over in the v-berth on a still night is enough to cause the slapping to begin. I have VHF, masthead wind sensor, and t

I have two forestays with furlers, with the inner mounted about 18" lower on the mast (and about 24" aft on the deck). Neither have restrainers that I can see, and I only have wrapping issues if I forget to put a bit of tension on the halyard before unfurling. With too much tension, the furler may

Filling a 20 pound propane tank around here costs around $15 or so. It has hard to compare the two, methane is a gas sold by the cubic foot and propane is a liquid sold by weight. Propane produces about twice the BTU per molecule as methane, so it probably is cheaper by the BTUs produced. CNG

$10 isn't bad. Our local CNG station officially only fills cars, but it is entirely self-service so no one chases you away. My scuba shop will recertify my CNG tank for me for the same price as a scuba tank, which is what it is anyway. Getting CNG at a marina around here is about $75-$120, de
