When weighing anchor I usually work the foredeck. I simply use my arm to
match the angle of the rode. If the rode is on the port side of dead
ahead, I use my left arm. Starboard, I use my right arm. The Admiral
drives and can easily see where the rode is by watching my arm. As my arm

They are not very good radios.
I have a few and while they do work, the tone squelch has an annoying time
delay and the receivers are wide open and subject to intermod. I would NOT use
one for anything critical at all, but they are great for things where you might
lose one overboard or
Keep in mind that people who are making these devices are earning about $3/day.
The biggest cost is shipping and distribution.

Very true. In north america one couldn't buy the parts for 11 bucks,
let alone add the labor $$ and some profit.

I rarely involve The Admiral in anchoring, but when I do I just use hand
signals. Radios seem overkill for this.
By the way, the endless variety of Baofeng (sp?) radios available for cheap are
not legal for this use. Not that this stops anyone, but they aren’t. They are
legally usable as ham
