If this is the switch you have:

Off - should disconnect both battery ( banks ) ie no starter to engine and no
house to boat
On - should connect starter to engine, house to boat but keep the separate
Combine -
I installed the Add A Battery Kit myself (with plenty of list and Blue Sea
help) last spring and the off position turns off the house battery. I presume
it turns off the starting battery as well, but I have never tried to start the
engine in the off position. Dave
