Bruce, That dark grey “stripe” that goes around the entire head is removable. It’s big, and you’ll need someone to help so it doesn’t break, but, once off, you will have access to the shower controls, as well as the sink faucet and holding tank. All the best, Edd Edd M. Schillay Starship
