The oven-as-Faraday-cage urban legend has been around a long time. It *might* work, but having been in the repair biz and having worked on a ton of lightning damaged boats, I would NOT COUNT ON IT. The damage can be incredibly variable and random. I had lightning blow my VHF antenna off and not
