I used a piece of starboard for this purpose.

On the slider, there is a piece of teak that is used to push open & pull closed
the hatch from the outside.
I'd like to replace that with something more maintenance free, and I'm thinking
either something like a bar of starboard or PVC.
What would you recommend?
