In my install the heater is tucked under the aft end of the shelf in the cockpit locker.  It doesn't get in the way and is reasonably protected.  The exhaust runs aft, goes up at the transom to form a hump and then down and out through the transom, off the top of my head maybe 20" from the top

Hi Blair That is about the size mine is, I might have closer to 50ft of 3/4" hose and I'm running an Espar D5 to two radiators and also through the hot water tank coils.  Works great, 9 years in. Actually, looking back at the article I see I claimed 50 ft hose, and the expansion tank is visi
