Thanks - some of the spikes on those devices do look aggressive. As I explore
this a bit (and thanks again for the prompt Marek) I realize how much is
possible with a few Prussik loops and a handful of carabiners. A bit slower
thats all. ‘Simplicate and add lightness’

A couple of words of caution, if you are planning to use climbing gear to
ascend the mast:
- many ascenders have little teeth to provide the grip. These teeth can damage
the rope. I would not use them on my halyards. If you want to use those,
