I just rebuilt one of these from a rebuild kit that was in a locker for 4 years on a dock in Coos Bay in the middle of a trip from Seattle to SF.
If you have the time and stomach, rebuild it. Don't leave any components untouched. If there is a black liner that looks broken inside the main pump housing, use heavy chemicals and a wooden stick to break that down and flush it all out. All of the plastic should be white. Use good lube when reinstalling orings and seals. Be meticulous. Your crew and your pride will ask you why you hadn't done it sooner.
