Thanks. Maybe you can join me for Annapolis Newport next year! At least
your main is making the trip!
Marion seems like an interesting race. Buzzards Bay is a tough place to
start from.

Bermuda race was always trying to get me to enter Mojito, so I am very jealous,
and really want to hear how you fare offshore. You will be much more
comfortable than the J/111... Have fun!

Tim,
Funny! You can track me and Steve on www.bermudaoceanrace.com. I'm not
subscribing to email. Yes, I will go through withdrawal!

ject: Stus-List Sat phone minutes
All,
I've managed to borrow an Iridium sat phone model 9555 for the race. I need to
buy airtime for the daily check-in,downloading gribs etc.
Does it matter where I buy from? Is 20 minutes enough for the 6 day race and 6
day return?

Dennis,
I assume they do. Check-in with the committee will be 1-2 minutes a day.

Check to see how partial minutes are tallied. Do they round them up to the
next whole minute? That is, does 20 seconds get billed as 1 minute.
That's one way users get in trouble with phone plans.

Based on my 2006 experience, I'd say it's more than enough. An average call
lasted about 20 seconds before being dropped.
I'm told service is vastly improved but
