Can this mailing list have a Subject line prefix like “[cobbler]” so
that I may be able organize by mail?

Nice as that is, not every email client can do that sort of filtering.

Would it be to much if I requested for the prefix to have brackets
around them? It will just make it easier to see and parse.

Use the List-Id header instead. Even gmail understands that. :)
