Hi Everyone--
Today 10/17 I did some birding in Canon City. Although the weather was
wonderful, there didn't seem to be many birds about. The Tunnel Road Sewage
Ponds had four Greater White-fronted Geese, possibly a family group. The
Tunnel Road Hiking Trail is closed (again), but I saw three Can

Hello COBirders,
I hit 11 Mile Reservoir today. I started the day with a Rough-legged
Hawk circling the prairie at the entrance of the reservoir. 50+
Western Grebes populated the lake and I noticed a loon was also out on
the water but I didn't have a scope with me so I put my canoe in and

We have 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks in our area and the way they hunt reminds me of
Harris' Hawks. One flies out to where the little birdies are sheltering, then
the other comes flying behind it, hoping to catch what might flush. They are
real smooth.

We did not find the Arctic Tern at Cherry Ck. SP yesterday afternoon, but
did refind the Sabine's Gull. It was not at the Marina, where it was seen
Thursday, but at the east boat slip/refuge, sometimes know at the jet ski
ramp. It was flying west of the spit, and landed in front of the pel
