COBirders,
Nick Moore, Brad Steger, and I found a male Eurasian Wigeon at Turk's Pond in
Baca County today. We also had a want-to-be Eurasian Wigeon at Thurston but it
is a Eurasian X American Wigeon. Possibly a backcross with Eurasian.
Other birds of interest today were two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK
Sunday afternoon Walden Ponds. Just south of Duck Pond, a pair, on the
ground at the top of the bank and in bushes per map. http://tiny.cc/stehh.
Also Cinnamon Teal nearby at Sawhill Ponds per same map. A couple of

Hi Everyone--
Marcia Marvin and I went up to see the White-winged Crossbill family in Fort
Collins. It was a very nice visit (male on the ground, female slurping on
maple sap and coming into a bush 20 feet away). On our way home, we stopped
at Windsor Reservoir. From WCR 78, we scoped south and sa
Well, I only get one day for spring break, so I try to make the most of it with
a long weekend. I usually like to tell my fashion conscious friends that I
went to Trinidad, but this year I didn't make it, although I did get to Las
Animas County twice!
I started off on Friday by heading out to

Cobirders,
Two Semipalmated Plovers were on the south shore of the pond at the new

be transitioning soon. Along with the plovers seen Friday, the

Hi COBirders,
Beautiful day here for a hawkwatch, with clear skies and light SE winds.
Initially, it was dead again, but about 10:30-11:30 there was a small flight of
Red-tailed Hawks moving N in groups of 2-4. These were circling and climbing
along the ridges above and behind the scar near G
I went looking for Nick's gulls this morning--none were present; Dixie
and his crew were also there. On the way down stopped by Weld
Landfill, the field on south had thousands of gulls huddled together
(Ring-billeds, Herrings, Californias, and one Franklin's Gull--
probably more species I'm sure).
Dear Cobirders,
I headed out this morning to try again for the Golden-crowned Sparrow
at Red Rocks Trading Post. Unlike last time, I only had to wait about 5
minutes before he appeared at the platform feeder. He hung around for a bit
before heading north into the "Native Plant Garden".
Two Bushtits at my suet feeder this morning.
New yard bird at my normally mundain feeders of House Finches and House
Sparrows. House near Quincy and Tower in Aurora.

On Saturday's DFO Field Trip we stopped at Pelican Point in Bear Creek
Lake Park where we observed a large raft of ducks and geese in the
southwest corner of the lake. There were 75 -100 Scaup, and Tim Smart
