Late this morning about nine Tuesday Birders had the pleasure of observing a
male American Three-toed Woodpecker on several Ponderosa Pines in
Alderfer/Three Sisters Park near Evergreen. The bird was heard tapping near

elevation and have observed pinyon jays in various sized flocks

Thanks to Chuck Hundertmark, I'm sure the supposed juvie finch being fed by
a Junco I reported on yesterday is actually a Brown-headed Cowbird, well
within the realm of "normal" unfortunately.

Southeast CO seemed pretty quiet during a recent visit (4-9 August). While
playing tennis at Willow Creek Park in Lamar, I did hear a good number (15+) of
Floyd (sometimes referred to as "Upland") Sandpipers overhead the night of
4-5August . Lots of Baird's Sandpipers in wet fields near Wiley
