Ten birders birded the Eastern plains Sunday. Birding was a little slow (windy, too), but one good bird makes the day. Prewitt inlet canal grove had a very nice fall adult male BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER. Common Poorwills were found in a few locations and Sandhill Cranes were on the move with

[cobirds] RMBO Barr Banding Station Report, 10/3

Hi Birders, Activity continues to be slow – new birds banded again in the low teens. After a couple of “sparrow” days, we returned, probably only briefly, to the majority of new birds being warblers. The excitement of the morning was capturing a Winter Wren, probable Eastern by plumage.

[cobirds] Final numbers of Wood Ducks, Walden Ponds, Boulder

I posted the enormous number of Wood Ducks, 46, on Ricky Weiser Pond at Walden Ponds on 8-1. On 9-8, there were at least 18, on 9-12, 13 were present and on 9-26 there were 19. Today they appear to be gone, but the water is quite low, with lots of algae. Because I've not seen this here before
