A female/immature Surf Scoter is at Chatfield Reservoir this morning best
seen at the Fox Run parking area. Interestingly all 89 Western Grebes that
were present yesterday are gone this morning.

Highlights from Fountain Creek Regional Park, El Paso County, Colorado on 12
Dec were the continuing rarities (hopefully these birds will be found on count
day of the Christmas Bird Count):
PINE WARBLER - 1 male, finally showed up at noon
OVENBIRD - 1
Winter Wren - 1
Harris's Sparrow - 1 immatur
Does anyone happen to know which Colorado CBC had one Ovenbird in 1970-71?
That seems to be the only one seen on a Colorado Christmas Bird Count. I'm
looking through all the Colorado CBCs, trying to figure it out, though if
someone knows, I'd would be interested.

Hi all,
I figured it out, the only Colorado CBC with an Ovenbird was the ROCKY MOUNTAIN
NATIONAL PARK CBC in 1970-71!! I wouldn't have guessed that one!!

The Iceland Gull was present again this morning in the general area of the
marina. Myself and five others had good looks at the bird, as it
alternated between the re-emerging sandspit and open water straight out from
the end of the west fisherman's pier.
We were also able to relocate one of the
Birders,
Tammy and I went to Red Rocks this a.m. and after spreading some seed, the
Harris's, Golden-crowned and White-throated Sparrows all showed up about 9
am. We didn't see the thrasher but others saw it later.

These gulls were still present in the late afternoon at the same location as
well as about 200 Herring Gulls, 50 Ring-billed Gulls, 10 California Gulls, 3
Thayer’s Gulls, 1 Mew Gull and a Double-crested Cormorant.
