There was a Summer Tanager (not adult male) on the Big Thompson Rec. Trail in Loveland East of Wilson Ave.. First time I've seen one on this trail. I tried to make it a Western Tanager (common here in spring and late summer), but the big light-colored bill and general look and colorin
Late this morning I flushed the Least Bittern as I was walking along the
south shore of the marsh. It disappeared into the tall cattails near the
center of the marsh. After an hour's wait it hadn't reappeared. My viewing
time of the bittern in the three trips to Holcim is about 14 seconds
