Thanks to Doug Kibbe for his most unusual strategy for finding the Least
Bitterns at Holcim Wetlands--I don't know anyone who would have advised
going out from noon to one to look for them. Now that most of my post
surgery restrictions have been lifted I went out to look for them from 7am
to 11 am

the shorebirds may be peaking there. We have had Least, Spotted, Semi-palmated,
Bairds, Stilt, Solitary, and Western Sandpipers, Long-billed Curlews, a few

The White-eyed Vireo was singing again this morning at Palmer
Lake in Monument Creek . It has moved about a 100 yards downstream from its
location last week , about 25 yards downstream of the bridge at the
intersection of Walnut Ave and Glen Ave . Behavior continu

reported Least Bittern pair at Holcim Marsh.
Arriving at noon, we were not optimistic but settled in to wait for them to
appear on the SW corner of the marsh. By the time we left an hour later, we
