On Sunday evening, several birders were on hand to study the staging gulls in the northwest corner of Lake Loveland. I got there early thinking that the gulls might arrive early as the local landfill is closed on Sundays. At 2 pm, only Ring-billed Gulls (about 150) were present. A Thayer’s Gull

just had a Northern Goshawk on my back deck railing. Near the bird feeder, and of course, all the little birdies have fled for shelter. And just as I got the camera, it flew. 2nd time I've had one in my backyard in the middle of Louisville. Louisville residents, be on the lookout for NOGO's!
