On Sunday evening, several birders were on hand to study the staging gulls in
the northwest corner of Lake Loveland. I got there early thinking that the
gulls might arrive early as the local landfill is closed on Sundays. At 2 pm,
only Ring-billed Gulls (about 150) were present. A Thayer’s Gull
just had a Northern Goshawk on my back deck railing. Near the bird
feeder, and of course, all the little birdies have fled for shelter.
And just as I got the camera, it flew. 2nd time I've had one in my
backyard in the middle of Louisville. Louisville residents, be on the
lookout for NOGO's!
On my way to the bank this morning, I saw unusual looking fowl in with
a flock of Canada Geese in the Tech Center. After navigating a birder
at the wheel turn, I identified them as greater white-fronted geese,
an adult and a juvenile.

After many visits, I relocated an American Dipper in Clear Creek at
the I-76 bridges(Adams Co.) east of Lowell Blv'd at 4 p.m. If looking
for this bird, park on either side of Lowell at 55th Pl. and watch the
creek from Lowell downstream 200 to 300 yds to the bike path bridge
over Clear

Drive in Colorado Springs this evening. The four Greater White-fronted
