I went over to Glenmere Park in Greeley (Weld) this morning with my friends Tom
and Mary France and saw sort of what everybody else has been seeing: adults (2)
and an undetermined number of yearlings (at most 3). I saw no birds that made
me think they were produced on-site this year

I wouldn't put much probability on "cross species compassion"; if it is an
impromptu feeding of a begging red-winged blackbird fledgling then, as Ken
said, probably just instinctual behavior prompted by begging noise and
posture from the fledgling.

This morning I saw a Green Heron on the southern part of Rice's Pond.
The other thing I saw that I had never seen before was a Yellow Warbler
feediing insects to a fledgling Red-winged Blackbird. I asked Ken Pals about
this and he said this was not unusual. I look at it as an example of

employees, and apparently ("who knew?") we have an International Program
named "Wings Across the Americas of the Forest Service". I received an

Well, biking seems to be the way of finding Dickcissels. I had heard and
seen individuals, also while riding, in the previously reported locations
from Bryan G. and Elena K. This week, I have come across hordes of these
birds in many of the fields north of Longmont. There are at least 6-8 of
the
Dan England, Outdoor Writer for Greeley Tribune, said that our
Glenmere/Mississippi Kite story will be available tomorrow (Saturday).
Look for the paper or online. Thanks to all of the Colorado birders who
