Yesterday, Thursday 10/11, at 1147 AM, I had 125 cranes high overhead at
Holly and Orchard, Centennial/Arapahoe, reorganizing into a V. Might these
be the same ones seen shortly before this at 120th?

COBirders,
While at Fountain Creek Nature Center this morning there was a diverse
flock of expected birds at the feeders. Among the mixed flock was a first
winter / tan-striped White-throated Sparrow foraging on the ground. Is this
a big year for WCSPs?

Hello COBirders,
I visited Jackson Reservoir this afternoon and found some of the shorebirds
mentioned by Joey Kellner & Mark Miller a week ago, including American
Golden-Plover.
Three flocks of Sandhill Cranes flew overhead--a Bald Eagle too, which
riled the shorebirds.

Loch Kilpatrick, Kathy Mihm Dunning, Gene Rutherford and I had a great day
birding Flagler SWA. The wind was stiff early on but relented some as the day
elapsed and temperatures warmed. The number of warblers in eastern Colorado is

We had a Stellar's jay in our little townhouse yard in west Centennial
today, first one ever in the 8 years we've lived at this location. Made me
feel a little better since I'm apparently the only person in Colorado who
hasn't seen or heard a sandhill crane this migration season. We've been
Here is a summary for the third week of banding in Grand Junction. We got
rained out today, so we only banded for four days. This week we caught a
total of 58 birds from 6 species. All 20 Bushtits were caught on one day,
in one net. To see a photo of the Brown Creeper, check out the Rocky
Mount
Today a bright male Cassin's finch and at least one female made several
appearances at our feeders. A shy female Evening Grosbeak was also present. The
Harris's sparrow, which was still around yesterday, was not seen today.

An incredible day! Working in partnership with the technical wizards from

Hi cobirders, This morning I had a flock of 20 Common Grackles come

At 7:18 this morning the Hermit Warbler flew out of the elm by the

I was not sure if I could walk on there.
