Hi Everyone--
Today 11/18 I went out to the Pawnee Grasslands. I drove up WCR 57 to WCR
100, and went west. About At 1.5 miles, I stopped and listened for
longspurs. It took a while, but I finally did get good fly-by looks at a
couple of Laplands. A Ferruginous Hawk flew north over WCR 100. I turn
Joel and I were hiking this morning at Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, and at
about 11:00 am we saw a Northern Pygmy Owl perched atop a mullein seed

came by, moving another 10 yards away to perch atop a sumac bush. It stayed

of freezing. Thus, I think no real movement of waterfowl into Colorad

The Dunlin was still present at about 9 this morning. Many thanks to Mel
Goff and his wife for their assistance in locating it. It was hanging

I also have a pair of greater white fronted geese on my pond today. This was
the first time that I had a pair show up as opposed to a single goose.
I've been enjoying a couple of pairs of a hooded mergansers and an
occasional goldeneye here on the pond. The mergansers have been here for abo
