Newbies here but wanted to submit that we saw 2 common golden eyes (one male
and one female) and 6 common mergansers today at Lake Estes! Better yet-we
identified them all on our own ;) Also-a large bald eagle at Wash Park in
Denver!

White-winged Dove (#111) on Saturday for three hours.
Funny story here, my birding sixth sense in action again. I
mentioned to my wife yesterday AM, Lots of Eurasians let me see if I
can finally get my White-winged Dove, picked up binos looked at tube
feeders my next reaction to wife was Holy

List includes:
Northern Shrike - southwest side of Mt Carbon, hunting near prairie dog
colony, observed for about 5 minutes 39.6470331,-105.1420995
Dropped over to Red Rocks this morning to have a look at the feeders, thinking
that the snow might bring in the rosy-finches. It did- all two of them. I
joined Gwen Moore, Cheryl Teuton and Dan Brooke for about an hour, during which
we had all the usual suspects plus the golden-crowned
I dropped by Teller 5 this afternoon, in spite of several recent reports that
there were no longer any gulls going there. I had about 250 individuals,
though about 80% were Ring-Billed Gulls. There were adults of Lesser
Black-backed and Thayer's present.

The Lesser Black-backed Gull larus fuscus intermedius continues at South Platte
Reservoir. If you haven't gone to see this bird, I suggest this... do an eBird
search on LBBG intermedius for the entire United States, over the past 10 years!
