it might be important to in-form the birding community, that an American
Woodcock was found dead in a yard in Colorado Springs, El Paso, near the U. of
Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS), last Saturday

This is Bill Maynard. We met at the Colorado Springs Acorn Woodpecker spot.
Before I forget, a friend just called and said he has a flock of 200
Bohemian Waxwings along Highway 115 near the turn for Martindale Campground.
The flock should be around the junipers feeding on the berries
I am not sure what was bigger than ginormous or I would have used it.
Maybe giga-ginormous?
While looking unsuccessfully for Eastern Bluebirds at a favored site in
Morgan County today, Feb 12, I found myself
driving NW on Highway 144, which is northwest of Log Lane Village, which is
just west of
Think it was Doug K on recent Greeley CBC who had similar experience,
three-digit Wild Turkey along river in circle.

Thanks to a tip from Bob Brown, I observed a Northern Mockingbird at the
northwest corner of South Platte Reservoir this afternoon at about 1:30. If
not rare, it seems unusual for February at least.
It's flitting between ground and barb wire at top of security fence, on Depew
St just inside
Pulling in to look for the Lesser Black-backed Gull I was surprised by a
Northern Mockingbird in the brush and on the fence just east of the road, first
brushy area.
Went on to see the Lesser Black-backed Gull. Two Long-tailed Ducks were still
present, as well.

In what was likely my final attempt for Hoary Redpoll up in Ft. Collins, I
came up all Commons, with one maybe that I'll seek an outside opinion on.
Oh well.
On the bright side, there were a few notable sightings in the area
including a fly-over flock of 70ish Bohemian Waxwings. There

Mountaindale Cabins RV Resort, I saw a large flock
We are enjoying a short February visit to Colorado. Before coming, I had been
reading on the two Colorado listservs and on the eBird Rare Bird Alert for
Colorado about the female Acorn Woodpecker being seen in the 1800 block of
Cheyenne Boulevard at Willow Circle in Colorado Springs. I don't
