The Golden-crowned presented 2 times 3/9/13 between 7:30AM and 9:30AM. 5
Junco ssp accounted for, (1) Cassiar, (1) Pink-sided x White-winged and (1)
oddie. Morrison Park had (3) American Dipper, and (1) Steller's Jay. Bear
Creek Greenbelt/Stonehouse (1) Northern Shrike. All before 11AM
Daylight Savings Time starts tomorrow. So if you are
planning on joining a field trip remember to change your
clocks before retiring tonight.

I headed out this afternoon as the storm was winding down to check what might
be in Boulder Valley. Baseline Reservoir was not particularly birdy, but
Teller #5 was extremely so. The junipers by the parking area had Spotted
Towhee, two Cassiar Dark-eyed Juncos, White-crowned Sparrows and after
On Thursday Ted Cooper and I made a run out the I-76 corridor and had a few
interesting sightings along the way.
Jumbo Res- the large (10,000?) flock of snow geese continues. The flock on the
water was quite impressive, but the real show came when a bald eagle decided to

1pm Saturday March 9th. Blizzard conditions on top of Conifer Mountain and
a flock of about 12 Bohemians have found the cedar tree in our front yard.

I took a trip to Holcim Wetlands this morning. There was a flock of about two
dozen cedar waxwings on the north side. I was able to find one Bohemian
waxwing among them. Hoped for the northern shrike, but no luck with that.
There were a pair of canvasbacks on the water, and I saw my firs
I was out walking yesterday along the Dutch Creek Greenbelt and found a
Say's Phoebe. It looks like there is only one report of this species in CO
in eBird for the year, so I thought I would let you all know. I hope it
survives all this snow today.
