The Pom Jaeger continued at Chatfield today. Joey Kellner and I
watched him sit in the middle of the lake for an extended period from
the northwest marina area. When he did fly, it was with purpose.
He flew towards us and closed in on a Ring-billed Gull. Right as they

A juvenile (aka first fall) Surf Scoter was at Rocky Mountain Lake Park
near Federal and I-70 at noon today. It played seek and hide under the
water.
The scoter was found yesterday by another birder.

This week was our last week of bird banding at Connected Lakes. It has been
a great month here, with some interesting birds banded (and lots of
White-crowned Sparrows). :) Thank you to everyone who came out to the
