I am not familiar with this area or what the exact situation is on the street
but has anyone considered touching base with the police and letting them know
what's going on?
Obviously, there's nothing specific to report, but they be interested in the
general situation and it also might be a

I just told that story because I think people are driven to doing stupid
things when they don't understand or feel threatened by someone else's actions.

I want to apologize to Cathy Sheeter for assuming that the
Cathy who was involved in Whooping Cranes in Prowers report on Facebook was
her. I should have realized that Sheeter is a careful birder and
would not have posted such a rare sighting in this manner.

Hi all
I contacted Weld Sheriff via email and shared our experiences--reaching out
to them for potential solutions. I did not mention names to protect the
innocent ... :-) ... I'll let you know how Sheriff responds.

Mary Cay Burger and I had the exact same experience with an oil truck driver
last year when we were parked near the oil well pullout (and not blocking
access). He was very interested in the birds through our scopes, etc. We have
never stopped near the house.

No less than three adult BWHAs were foraging in the Lamar CC woods yesterday
PM. They were trying to forage with me traipsing through the understory. I
could only turn up expected Passerines, with a couple of early Wilson's
Warblers.

A pair of Ash-throated Flycatchers returned to the Osprey Picnic Area, in Rock
Canyon today, 21 April. I also saw one Eastern Phoebe, three singing House
Wrens, and a good number of singing and not singing Yellow-rumped Warblers
(both Audubon's and Myrtle) all in the same area. This is
I have not been able to check the cemetery per my every-2-or-3-days schedule of
the last few years. Thus, having not been since 8April, it seemed quite
changed today.
Lots of trees and other plants have flowered/leafed out. The peonies are about
a foot tall, on average. Fox Squirrels were
FOS Band-tailed Pigeons just arrived at my feeders here in Teller County
today.
Their first arrival is highly variable here each year - but this is about as
late as it gets. Feb thru early April is usual.

Hi Everyone,
Around noon today 4/21, I stopped by the ibis pond. There were no ibis of any
kind, but the hybrid Blue-winged x Green-winged Teal that Christian Nunes
reported was still there.

Greetings All
Alas, no Glossy Ibis or fancy BW x GW Teal hybrid was to be found along 119th
where they'd been stationed over this past weekend in Boulder County
However, the pond at the corner of CO-119 and Weld CR 7 had a flock of about 14
ibis with one Glossy in it today. An eagle went

Hi all
The HARRIS'S SPARROW is still visiting our backyard.. tho' very elusive
now.. It is molting rapidly, and singing most days. Today I only heard him
and ne'er clapped eyes on him. Yesterday I only saw him 2x all day - and
very briefly each time at that. PINYON JAYS are still visiting
Some highlights among the many things noted in today's birding...
A male and female RUSTY BLACKBIRD were along Plum Creek near the picnic
area. The Eastern Phoebe was not in evidence in that area, but there was a
SWAMP SPARROW. Small flocks of Yellow-rumped Warblers totaling about 30
birds,

Hello COBirders,
I walked around Stalker Pond (named Stalker Lake on eBird hotspots) for an
hour this afternoon, 4/21.
The place was busy with a few families fishing the pond and else quiet but
for some Canada geese and a pair of greater yellowlegs. Best birds had to
be a pair each of
