Had a report from an early visitor to our yard that the Black-billed Cuckoo was
heard and briefly seen at around 5:20 am this morning. Was seen just past
Wahatoya Creek on the North side of CTY Rd. 358. Cuckoo was still calling from
roughly the same location at shortly after 6:00 am when I took

running at 27,000 CFS. Today, the river was running at 11,000 CFS and was
visibly much lower than it had been for the last month.
It makes me wonder if they have decreased the amount of water being released
from Chatfi

This is information regarding an apparent closure of the park on the west side
of Timnath Reservoir and a few small sightings from Fossil Creek Reservoir in
Fort Collins.
My family and I decided to take a walk over at Fossil Creek this afternoon

I just received this from one of the Park Rangers:
"The water level went up over the evening and continues to rise. The main
park Road is closed between Fox Run and the Platte River parking area."
Just wanted to let birders know. If you want to bird on the Douglas County
side of the Platte Rive
I'll add that the "Explore Data" tab in eBird (www.ebird.org) will take you

My husband and I are planning to bird Pawnee National Grasslands in late August
in search of McCown's longspur and to see other grassland species. We had
reserved at Crow Valley Family Grassland, and received notice that our
reservation was cancelled due to flooding. It appears all campgrounds

it is Rt.250 not 205) and easily found the Grace's Warbler this morning
singing high in a Ponderosa. I had a possible sighting of a second Grace's
and will continue to monitor this spot for any possible nesting activity.
