1. The Northern section of the Banner Lakes State Wildlife Area is now
open. It is annually closed from April 1 to July 15 for nesting season.

the Common Loon was present for a third day running. It was absent, but an
immature Little Blue Heron was present, standing beside a large group of
Double crested Cormorants in one of the 2 smaller pits on the west side of

While out for a long run in residential Boulder this morning, I heard both
these species vocalizing in their respective distinctive ways.
