The adult, basic, (light-morph, intermediate-morph depending on your field
guide of preference) Parasitic Jaeger continues to harass gulls at Jackson Res.
A scope or boat are recommended to see this bird. Also, a third or fourth
cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull was seen from a distance. Speakin

Banding was unremarkable at Clear Spring Ranch today -just a mix of sparrows,
but while checking nets I had a brief visit from an Eastern Phoebe on a
cottonwood branch. This was in the CSR area near the sod house, so about a
mile-and-a-half from the parking area at Exit 123.
Also
As of about 2:30PM, all the notable birds were still visible from the marina
sandspit.
However, a scope is recommended for good views. Fear not if you lack one as
there have been many observers there with scopes and all will (or should) share
views with you.
For those who somehow missed earlier
There, at the top of a cottonwood in the SW corner of Hillsdale Park,
amongst a flock of Red-winged Blackbirds and Mourning Doves, was a
Budgerigar, chattering away.

Early this morning, Margie Joy found a flock of three Caspian Terns flying west
from Turkey Creek, on the far western side of Pueblo Reservoir. Late morning,

Morgan Co yesterday, but alas, no Roughies. Also had what seems to be a
late Turkey Vulture over I 25 and I 76.

Last Saturday wrapped up a great banding season at Chico with 1291 birds
banded of 44 species!
The Wilson's Warbler was the most numerous bird caught at 586! By the end
of the season, the Ruby-crowned Kinglet overtook the Wilson's Warbler in
quantity per day, though never threatened to overtak
Add 2 Sandhill Cranes, an Osprey and a Ruddy Duck.

Last Saturday I saw a late Swainson's Hawk in Pueblo County. For the
subscribers to our list that are relatively new to birding, Swainson's Hawks
are generally well on their way to Argentina by this time in October. The
report of a sighting yesterday of an early Rough-legged Hawk is
