Just before sundown today, I counted 8 mature Bald Eagles and hundreds upon
hundreds of gulls on and around Highland Lake. I don't know my gulls at all, so
can't tell you what they are. I haven't seen any juvenile Eagles either, all

Just a few quick sighting notes. Amidst my running around Fort Collins,
Loveland, and Windsor I have seen the following birds the last two days

Yesterday on the way to Grand Junction I checked a faithful Western
Screech-owl hole near parking area for Escalante SWA - Hamilton Tract (near
Delta). No owl but 4 Tree Swallows were perched directly above. I doubt
this is the earliest record for Colorado but pretty darn early!

give you the Christmas Bird Count data for this past winter (Dec 14-Jan 5).
Here are the totals for Colorado Christmas Bird Counts this past winter for
Juncos sub-species for 45 counts around Colorado.
