Hi all,
Yesterday the adult male Surf Scoter continued at San Luis Lakes. This was
viewed from the NW shore of the main lake. Other birds of interest there
included two distant dowitchers, a Baird's Sandpiper, many ibis, and two
Forster's Tern.

Hi Folks,
Mea culpa. It wasn't a Black Grosbeak in my yard (I don't think there
is such a bird), it was a Black-headed Grosbeak.

Today, there were at least 10 singing Dickcissels on Swede Lane, Rio Grande
County. This is the road about 1-2 miles north of Monte Vista on Hwy 285.
Watch for Swede lane going to the west. Birds were in the first mile on
north side of road.

Up to 2 Black Swifts were seen today & yesterday 7-745AM at Lake Beckwith,
Colorado City, SW Pueblo County. Late July thru most of August has
traditionally been the best time to see these birds here.

Sunday, the two ponds at Weld CR 74 and 61 are hosting some shorebirds--the
north side especially has mud flat. There are a series of ponds (other
roads) in this section of Weld all of which have water.
