Hey, all.
I enjoyed a nice morning at Greenlee Preserve & environs, Boulder County,
earlier today, Saturday, Aug. 25, with a birding group organized by the
City of Lafayette. We found 50 species of birds, including 3 Wood Ducks, 2
Black-chinned Hummingbirds, 1 Sora, 3 Snowy Egrets, 1 Peregrine
Alicia Arnold and I found a single Buff-breasted Sandpiper yesterday right near
the path southeast of the parking area. It was seen at 7:00 pm yesterday
evening. Sorry I didn’t post earlier we were nailing down the id first. Good
Adams County bird.

Black-capped Chickadee 4
House Wren 6
Gray Catbird 1

Today I spent the majority of the morning at Golden Ponds in Longmont and I
had a few nice highlights including 3 Eastern Phoebes, 2 Brewers Sparrows,
4 Macgilivrays Warblers, and a Townsends Warbler.

Not sure Jean. Some breed in the San Juan Mountains in SW Colorado
regularly. But then with fall migration, the San Luis valley gets a whole
passel of birds from presumably the north that spend November to March
here. Those birds could easily overlap local birds. One radio tracked Bald
