Hi all,
First to be clear, I DID NOT see this bird. Someone had seen this hawk and
posted it on the Colorado Field Ornithologists Facebook page, asking for
the ID. I happened to see the post and thought it looked possibly like a
Harris's Hawk. They had seen it at Big Stratton Reservoir, in Col
Milavec Reservoir. No doubt about the color of those feet. 12-17-18

Hi all,
I saw the Gyr Falcon on Trilby road for about 15 minutes. I got to
Trilby at 12:55 pm. The bird flew in at about 1:00 pm and perched for
about 15 minute on one of the tall poles, then flew north towards the
landfill, then made a sharp turn to the west and I lost it.

This winter, all I seem to be able to find around west Arapahoe County is
the absence of last year's Pygmy Nuthatches and this year's Palm Warblers.
Alas. But over the past three days, Pine Siskin flocks have been a nice
consolation. On Saturday, a flock of about 10 was along the Lee Gulch near
We did not see the Gyr, but the landfill had a Great Black-backed, 8 Lesser
Blacked-backed and a Glaucous. We did not see the Glaucous-winged.

Hi all
Since we are in the "eating holiday" thought I would share this video and
three photos with you all ... seen along 35th Ave Gravel Ponds in Greeley.
Both at top of list named "What's New" in center of homepage below. It was
great watching the kingfisher "choking it" down successfully.
It just arrived with two thousand geese at 10:00 a.m. Frederick Res.
