Funny you should mention the lack of birds at Richmil Ranch Open Space. I visited last Saturday, and I made it halfway around the loop before I saw or heard a single bird. I ended up seeing a small group of American Tree Sparrows, and a few juncos. My treat came as I was about to get in my car

On Tuesday an American dipper was singing madly and blinking his white eyelid in Boulder Creek under the 30th Street bridge in Boulder. There was some debris I thought might be the beginning of a nest on one of the ledges, so I hope he will stay around for awhile. The song was so loud I heard
