Hello!
There was a Ruddy Turnstone this afternoon at the west boat ramp (furthest
north) of Neenoshe Reservoir, Kiowa County. It was feeding along the shore to
the north of the boat ramp with a small flock of Baird’s Sandpipers before they
were spooked by a raptor. I didn’t stick around much
Hey, folks.
Great birding in the rain today, Wed., May 8, at Greenlee Preserve &
environs, Boulder County. The highlight was at least 3 and perhaps 4 or 5 *gray
flycatchers.* The species was considered casual, maybe even accidental, in
the county when I moved here in 2002. Now it is annual in s
Birders,
Our FOS Western Tanager arrived two days ago. Today, we have 5 incl 1 female

Hi all,
Found a Piping Plover at Cherry Creek State Park at the Smoky Hill Swim
Beach. See ebird checklist for photos.
I ran out of time for birding and was unable to even try for the potential
Field Sparrow.

A White-throated Sparrow made an appearance in my backyard this afternoon.
I usually get one or two during the winter months, but not this
winter...until now. Check ebird for photos.
A female Western Tanager and a Spotted Towhee also made an appearance this
afternoon. A Lincoln's Sparrow has be
Hi all,
Holden Maxfield, my brother, and I went on a quick outing around Coal Creek
today and found a stunning Ash-throated Flycatcher, a continuing Palm
Warbler from yesterday, and many other migrants such as a Swainson's
Thrush, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Virginia's Warbler. The Ash-throated
Palm warbler seen previously just re-seen at the Golden Ponds just before the
bridge on the south side of the park. In a large group of yellow-rumped’s.

Hi all-
Currently at Lake Loop of Cherry Creek State Park. Just had a flock of dozens
of Chipping Sparrows with several Brewer's Sparrows along the road. Had a
likely Field Sparrow, slightly larger than Chipping, similar torso coloration,
mostly light grey "blank-looking" face with orange crown
Flexibility is the name of the game in this crazy weather! We arrived to
drizzle yesterday; gave up and went home. It was grey and calm when we
arrived today, and we estimated we could open a few nets and get in a
couple of hours before the downpour. Turned out to be less than one hour,
but
Today’s wet weather brought some migrants to Empire in Clear Creek County:
>From US 40 in the center of town, go south on Main Street. There was a
>Solitary Sandpiper at the first pond on the left.
At Minton Park, numerous sparrows were on the grass in the ball field and
around the playground.
Birders,
Our FOS BH Grosbeak showed up this morning. We still have a WC Sparrow.
2 Lesser Goldfinches made an appearance yesterday.

On this cool rainy day I saw 8 Spotted Sandpipers at Pelican Point at
Cherry Creek SP.
Spotted Sandpipers exhibit sex role reversal, just as phalaropes do, with
females being dominant and displaying
to find willing males, which tend the nest and the chicks. "Spotty"
plumages are the same in both se
Early this morning I had a Rose Breasted Grosbeak at Golden Ponds in
Longmont. It was right before the bridge that crosses over the river, but
it was moving around a lot.
Besides this, there are no rarities to report other than good numbers of
the usual migrants.
