I also had the pleasure to see this species at Chatfield a few days ago, along
with Least Flycatcher and Red eyed Vireo (heard). Interestingly, even though
South Platte Park is directly north and fairly similar habitat along the South
Platte, I've never seen these local Chatfield species in Sout
Not rare but very localized breeders in Colorado. Bob and Claire Knapp and
I found at least three singing males (three heard, two seen, one
photographed) between the bird banding area and the Platte River. Listen
for a Yellow Warbler song that doesn't sound right. Redstarts have a great

This morning while going into the federal courthouse at 19th and Champa, I saw
a bird of prey in the same place where I had heard and then seen a peregrine.
Since the bird was silent, I couldn’t be certain, but when I came out an hour
and a half later, the falcon flew off and landed on the feder
