Hello all,
Sabrina Hepburn and I birded Weld and Morgan Counties today. Our best bird
was an Ash-throated Flycatcher in a line of Russian-olives just west of
Keenesburg. Nice finds at Jackson Lake included a Cassin's Vireo in the
campground and a Cattle Egret and a Common Tern on the north shore.
Thanks for the heads-up.
I'll be curious to know just how someone could "inadvertently add" nearly
2,000 acres of Chico Basin Ranch to Stewardship Trust back in 1998.
Count me skeptical of this . . . what, exactly -- excuse? Justification?

I read this article in the recent newsletter from the Colorado Springs
Aiken Audubon Society. I don't know anything beyond what the article states
but if all of the facts in it are correct I think we need to send input to
appropriate individuals, especially since it sounds like the state owns

For all the folks that were able to see the suspected Red Phalarope I would
love your thoughts on how you came to your ID. I have reviewed multiple
pictures and have a hard time making an ID one way or the other.
The bill at a distance certainly appears somewhat thicker, but not conclusively
