The water level at Timnath Reservoir (southeast Larimer County) is as low as
ever, mudflats are extensive, and shorebirding should be fabulous this weekend.
Shorebird species reported there on eBird in the last few days include:

Black-bellied Plover

No wind, no drizzle, no heat, some sunshine - yay! Caught 34 new birds in
a pretty typical morning of all banding:
Red-eyed Vireo 1 (5th of season, most in any year)
House Wren 2
Hermit Thrush 1
Brown Thrasher 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 5
Wilson's Warbler 1
Chipping Sparrow 4
Song Sparrow 3
Lincol
Today was a relatively uneventful day, with 12 new birds and 4 recaptures,
bringing our total of birds banded to 177. One of the birds that I banded
on the very first day at GVAS, a Juniper Titmouse, showed up again - it's
nice to see some resident birds sometimes!

Edith Israel on CFO said this may be an escapee from the aviary at
ManorCare down the road (I didn't know they had one). They guy who cares
for the birds there (Trevor) is supposed to call me tomorrow, hopefully
he'll know if they have seed-finches (or munia), and if they had one
escape recentl

I took the liberty of sending the pics to Alvaro Jaramillo (much experience
with seed-finches) and he says:
Impossible to know (species) without a male and out of range I would say. Most
likely a Lesser/Chestnut-bellied, as these are common and widespread. They are
also traded heavily
Leonard Sitongia and I had three Ferruginous Hawks, two adult and one
juvenile this morning just after 11 o'clock passing by Rabbit Mountain.
Spotted Towhees and White Crowned Sparrows were evident, but nary a
